MONCKS CORNER, S.C. (WCBD) – Santee Cooper on Thursday will test 15 of its warning signs for the Santee Dam Flood Plain in three South Carolina counties.
During testing, Santee Cooper will set off each siren in test mode, which will include a one-minute siren, followed by a pre-recorded message and a live announcement concluding the message.
The test will be in Berkeley, Clarendon, and Williamsburg Counties.
Officials with the utility provider said that during this test, employees will gather information on the siren wail time and the message clarity, completeness, and volume for both the prerecorded message and live announcements.
