The Metropolitan Police has declared it is exploring the possibility of extraditing the prime suspect in the disappearance of Madeleine McCann to the UK.

Force chief, Mark Rowley, has said British detectives are still liaising with German and Portuguese officers over the missing girl's case

This comes as suspect, Christian Brueckner, was released from a German facility yesterday (September 17) after serving a seven year sentence for raping a 72-year-old woman in her home in Praia da Luz, Portugal in 2005.

He was seen being driven from the prison by his lawyer, with the 49-year-old handed numerous conditions for his release.
