LANSING, Mich. (WLNS)-- U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem announced she will be in Michigan this weekend to attend the Mackinac Republican Leadership Conference.

The Michigan Republican Party will host this year's conference at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island every other year. Starting tomorrow, GOP leaders will speak about "conservative values" and the Trump Administration's efforts to push their immigration crackdown.

Secretary Noem served as South Dakota’s 33rd Governor and the state’s first-ever female governor.
