A Leicester house fire was caused by an e-bike charger, officers have said. The incident caused "significant" damage to the property and saw the response of multiple crews.
Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service were called to the house fire in Rowan Street, in the Newfoundpool area of Leicester, at 8.48am on Sunday, September 14. The fire, which started in the front room of the property, was found to be "accidental" and sparked by an e-bike's battery charger.
Crews from central, Eastern and Western stations attended the fire alongside Leicestershire Police officers and stayed at the scene until 3.30pm on the day. A spokesperson for the force said: "Thankfully, no one was seriously injured but the damage was significant, and the risk was very real."
