DILLON COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) -- Dillon County authorities have charged a 38-year-old Florence man with obstruction in connection with a deadly shooting.

Marcus Demonshia Blakely was arrested on Monday and booked into the Dillon County Detention Center. Deputies said he was one of several people present when Darrick Lamont Jones, 48, of Dillon, was shot multiple times and killed on Sept. 7 on Smutherman Drive.

"Detectives determined one of the individuals at the scene of the shooting did willfully pick up items of evidence within the crime scene and did carry them away," the sheriff's office said. "The individual failed to advise law enforcement of doing so, impeding the investigation of this homicide."
