SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) - The Metropolitan Savannah Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (MSAVHCC) announced Thursday they will not hold the traditional Hispanic Heritage Parade and Festival this year.
Alfonso Ribot, president and CEO of MSAVHCC, told WSAV News 3, "This difficult decision was made after thoughtful consideration of community concerns and logistical challenges that could affect the ability to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all participants. Our goal has always been to provide opportunities that celebrate the richness of our Hispanic heritage while uplifting families, entrepreneurs, and community leaders. After careful reflection, we chose to move forward with a format that allows us to gather joyfully, while ensuring every guest feels comfortable and welcomed."
