MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Tennessee's Attorney General Jonathan Skrmetti has joined a federal lawsuit against Ticketmaster and Live Nation, accusing them of ticket scalping schemes.

The lawsuit claims Ticketmaster allowed ticket brokers to bypass purchasing limits on its website, resulting in thousands of tickets being bought above the set limit and leaving many fans unable to purchase any.

The lawsuit alleges that brokers used methods such as creating hundreds of fake Ticketmaster accounts to purchase tickets in bulk.

It is also claimed that Ticketmaster ignored these actions and, in some cases, even helped the brokers by reselling the tickets at higher prices on its resale platform.
