MARLBORO COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) -- An employee at the Marlboro County Humane Society was arrested Thursday after allegedly stealing items from the shelter's office, deputies said.

Tracey McDowell was released from the Marlboro County Detention Center on a $1,000 personal recognizance bond after being charged with breach of trust, deputies said.

The shelter's director reported the incident on Wednesday after McDowell was caught on camera stealing items from her office, deputies said. McDowell had been employed at the shelter since late August, after completing a court-ordered community service agreement for probation at the Humane Society.
