BISMARCK, ND (KXNET) - Police in Williston are urging residents to be cautious at the gas pump after discovering illegal skimming devices at the fuel station card readers.

Detectives have recovered two skimmers so far, according to a statement from WPD obtained by KX News. The devices were designed to steal credit and debit card information from unsuspecting customers.

Skimmers are small, often hard-to-detect devices that can be placed over legitimate card readers. They capture data from a card's magnetic stripe, which can then be used to make fraudulent purchases or sold on the black market.
