BISMARCK, ND (KXNET) — Hundreds of businesses, community members and policy leaders packed Bismarck State College Tuesday for the Greater North Dakota Chamber’s (GNDC) annual Policy Summit. The daylong event tackled some of the state’s most pressing issues — from health care costs to energy policy to the broader economy.

“This event is designed to bring people together to talk about the future of our state,” said Arik Spencer, president and CEO of the GNDC. “Whether it’s health care, carbon capture, or economic growth, these are conversations North Dakotans need to be having.”

Health care affordability drew sharp attention, with Spencer acknowledging the rising costs.

“Health care’s a big issue for North Dakotans, but health care affordability is a big issue for North Dakota,” he said.
