MANDAN, ND (KXNET) — The old Mandan High School building is holding a fire suppression training Tuesday evening for the Mandan City Fire Department.
Tuesday, September 23 at 6 p.m., the public may see fire trucks, smoke, and possibly fire in the area. This is all being done in accordance with a detailed training plan and applicable codes.
Fire department officials say the building will not be burned down, and the training will be contained to interior rooms.
“The ability to train in a live fire environment in a large space will provide an invaluable opportunity to learn in an atmosphere that we don’t have the facilities to simulate on a regular basis,” Fire Chief Mitch Bitz said in a press release.
Fire lines may be in place, and some streets may be closed to ensure public safety. Resi
