CINCINNATI (WXIX) - The Cincinnati imam who was detained by ICE following the revocation of his asylum was released from the Butler County Jail, according to his attorney Robert Ratliff.
Ayman Soliman, an Egyptian national with political asylum in the U.S., was previously accused by the Department of Homeland Security of having ties with the Muslim Brotherhood . He has been in ICE detainment since July and was forced to quit his job as a chaplain at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital.
On Friday, the attorneys for the Department of Homeland Security dismissed the removal proceedings for Soliman, Ratliff told FOX19 NOW, however he does not know why.
“Its likely we will never know,” Ratliff said.
