SPARTANBURG, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - The NCAA News X account put out a statement Thursday night refuting a report from Jeff Goodman of Field of 68 that six players on Wofford men’s basketball team were deemed ineligible by the NCAA for receiving improper benefits.

The account stated the NCAA has, in fact, not suspended any student-athletes at Wofford and did not take any action against any athletic department at the college.

The Palmetto Sports Team spoke with Wofford Sports Information Director Brent Williamson, who said they cannot comment on the situation because this is an ongoing personnel matter.

Williamson said he could not confirm if the six players were suspended by the NCAA and will provide an update to the Palmetto Sports Team when it becomes available.
