SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — The City of San Angelo is clearing up what has been going on with the water discoloration recently.
During the weekend of August 30, San Angelo received water from Lake Ivey, which is where 50% of the city's water is sourced, and the attributed discoloration was from small amounts of trace elements of manganese.
Contaminants that we see in service water we're able to take care of at the water treatment plant," said John Kaufman, the San Angelo Water Utilities Director. "We use flocculation and sedimentation.
