PERRYSBURG, Ohio — The International Festival returned to Perrysburg this weekend, bringing together thousands of people for a celebration of culture, food and community after a one-year hiatus.
The event, hosted by the Islamic Center of Greater Toledo, paused last year to honor the suffering of those in Gaza . Organizers said they wanted to resume the tradition however to help foster unity.
For 23 years, the festival has offered residents a chance to experience cultures from around the globe. This year’s event featured food, music and displays from 20 different countries, including Brazil, Morocco, Pakistan and Lebanon.
