“Our hometown hospital is failing.”
This was the most poignant criticism I heard from a current long-time employee at Northwest Health - Porter. By no means was it the harshest of the many complaints I’ve heard for weeks from patients, nurses and other healthcare personnel at that hospital.
“Are you aware how bad things are there?” a frustrated worker asked me last month. “How surgeons have been let go? How hospital employees are in fear of losing their jobs? Does the public have a clue what’s going on there? Does hospital management even care?”
