Engine problems on the aging Queen of Surrey have forced a series of cancellations on the Horseshoe Bay-Langdale run this weekend.

B.C. Ferries said a “mechanical difficulty with the vessel’s main engine” is to blame for several sailings being dropped beginning late Saturday afternoon and leading into Sunday.

As of now, the following sailings between Metro Vancouver and the Sunshine Coast have been cancelled:

• 6:20 a.m. departing Langdale

• 7:30 a.m. department Horseshoe Bay

• 8:40 a.m. departing Langdale

• 9:50 a.m. departing Horseshoe Bay

• 11 a.m. departing Langdale

“We continue to investigate the issue with the main engine’s rotor,” said B.C. Ferries on social media early Sunday morning.
