FOXBOROUGH - Coming off his best game as a Patriot in the Week 2 win against the Dolphins, the hope was that Drake Maye would put together a similar effort.

In the early going against Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers, however, Maye looked more like the uncertain, hesitant quarterback from the Week 1 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders - as opposed to the stud who showed up in Miami.

There were also points where he looked like the confident, composed quarterback from Week 2.

That’s what they needed down a touchdown with 2:11 to play. They needed the good Maye to show up.

The potential game-tying TD stalled with the Maye and the Patriots unable to convert a 4th-and-1 from the Steelers 28.
