FARRELL, Pa. (WKBN) -- Pennsylvania State Police are investigating after a person was found dead after a shooting early this morning in Farrell.

The incident happened outside of Yank's Place on Idaho Avenue in Farrell around 1 a.m. Sunday and sources said that shots were fired at the victim's car and that several other cars were hit nearby.

A release from the Mercer County Coroner identified a victim of the shooting as Brandon Smith, 45, of West Middlesex.

Smith was pronounced dead at 2:24 a.m. at the hospital on Sunday due to the gunshot wound to the chest in a manner ruled as homicide, the release states.

Shortly after the incident, it was reported that a second crime scene was found on Wilson Road, off of Swamp Road.
