BISMARCK, ND (KXNET) - The City of Bismarck’s Public Works Utility Operations Department is set to begin fire hydrant testing and maintenance, with crews working weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The process involves flushing hydrants, which may temporarily cause rusty or discolored water in nearby homes and businesses.

Residents are advised to avoid washing clothes during these hours until the water clears. Running lawn sprinklers can help flush out the system more quickly.

Hydrant testing will take place in two phases: • September 22–26: From Main Avenue to Bismarck Expressway and Riverside Park Road to 9th Street; also from Xavier Street (Ward Road) to State Street and I-94 to Boulevard Avenue. • September 29–October 3: From Boulevard Avenue to Bismarck Expressway and Bell Stre
