Monday morning fire at International Paper Chip Mill

EFFINGHAM COUNTY, Ga. (WSAV) — The Effingham County Fire Rescue responded to reports of fire at the International Paper Chip Mill in Eden.

The incident occurred on Monday at around 5 a.m. at the International Paper Chip Mill located near Hwy 80 in Eden.

Upon arrival, fire crews found a chip conveyor and a chip pile actively burning. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire and Mill personnel assisted fire crews by spreading the chip pile, allowing firefighters to extinguish the remaining fire.

No injuries or damage to the property were reported.
