PALMETTO, Fla. ( WWSB ) – Police in Palmetto have arrested a man in connection with the shooting death of a woman late on Sept. 21.
Officers said reports of gunfire in the 1400 block of 12th Avenue West were received around 11:30 p.m. Sunday. At the scene, two witnesses directed officers to the driveway of a nearby home, where the body of 30-year-old Blanca Guzman Bartolon was found with a gunshot wound to the head.
The witnesses told police that Bartolon had called them for help before the shooting, saying her boyfriend, later identified as Cilas Roblero Morales, 25, was armed and acting aggressively. When they arrived, Morales confronted them and opened fire, killing Bartolon. The witnesses ran from the scene.
