(FOX40.COM) — A vehicle stop led to the arrest of a convicted felon after deputies found him to be in possession of multiple guns, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office.

SCSO said deputies conducted a vehicle stop on a convicted felon who is prohibited from owning guns or ammunition.

The North Division High Impact Policing Team and SCDSO deputies began an investigation, obtaining search warrants for areas the suspect was "known to control," the sheriff's office said.

Five handguns, two rifles, ammunition and $4,000 in cash were recovered from the suspect's storage unit.

Deputies said he was arrested and booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail.
