WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Ill. (KFVS) - Some children were taken to an area hospital with minor injuries after a crash involving a school bus in southern Illinois.
According to the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the crash on Illinois Route 37 at Foxcroft Drive around 7:25 a.m. on Monday, September 22.
Deputies say the Johnston City School District bus, carrying approximately 30 children in grades K-12, was stopped to make a left turn when it was hit from behind by a black Nissan SUV.
They say road conditions were slick due to heavy rain.
According to the sheriff’s office, several of the children were taken to area hospitals by their parents or ambulance for evaluation of minor injuries.
