For today’s Good Question, Joseph asks: How many ambulance runs does the Lexington Fire Dept. make in a week? It seems I always hear sirens when outside this time of year.
Battalion Chief Derek Roberts with the Lexington Fire Department tells me they average 197 runs per day. And the majority of them are EMS runs.
He told me roughly 75% of the runs they make involve emergency medical services. The other 25% are for fire.
That comes out to almost 148 ambulance runs per day, and more than a thousand per week, roughly 1,034.
