YORK COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM)-- Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday issued a warning about potential donation scams that could surface after three York County Police officers were killed and two were injured last Wednesday.

York County District Attorney Tim Barker called last week's incident a “brutal ambush.”

The officers were ambushed as they were attempting to serve an arrest warrant at a home in North Codorus Township, York County. Three officers were killed, and two others were hospitalized.

According to AG Sunday and the Bureau of Consumer Protection, scammers are always looking to create scams surrounding current events. Individuals who are considering donating are encouraged to research before sending donations.
