(WHTM) -- Many Midstate parents are dealing with school bus issues such as canceled routes and a shortage of drivers. But one mother had to deal with a much scarier issue last week.

Stephanie Davey has three children in the West Shore School District. One of them is a seven-year-old boy.

"He goes to Red Mill Elementary School," Davey said. "He is special needs but fully functioning."

Davey said he rides to school on a van operated by Rohrer. The family's experienced minimal issues, such as late arrivals. But nothing, she said, like this.
