COLUMBUS, Ohio - Ohio is launching a new $10 million program in which child-care costs will be shared among companies, parents and the state.

The Child Care Cred Program, created through the state’s two-year budget bill Gov. Mike DeWine signed in late June, is designed to address one of Ohio’s most pressing workforce challenges: access to affordable child care, according to a Monday news release from DeWine’s office.

Under the program, child-care costs are divided as follows: 40% by the employer, 40% by the employee, 20% by the state.
