KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Knox County Board of Education member Katherine Bike announced Monday plans to run for re-election in 2026.
Bike was elected to represent the 4th District in West Knoxville on the board in 2022. According to Bike's campaign, she won by just 139 votes.
“Public education is the bedrock of our democracy,” Bike said. “Right now, our School Board needs unapologetically pro-public education voices who will fight for equity, opportunity, and a school system that actually works for every kid. That’s how we build the next generation’s foundation to thrive.”
In 2026, Knox County voters in Districts 1, 4, 6,7 and 9 will vote for their respective candidates for school board. The primary is May 5 and, if there are more than two candidates, the top two will move on to the general
