DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) -- One of the Midstate's most visible school district superintendents has resigned.

Steelton-Highspire School District Superintendent Mick Iskric has led key innovations at the small and traditionally under-resourced district, including a solar farm to power the school and electric school buses.

But tensions were evident with the school district, which back in February considered suspending him but backed off that.

This school year, he was notably absent at the usual start-of-year festivities and now the board announced it has mutually agreed with him that his last day will be September 30.
