FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - The "Bobby Salazar's" restaurant at Fresno's Champlain Drive and Perrin Avenue is changing its name following the criminal allegations levied against Salazar in federal court last month.
The restaurant's management announced on social media over the weekend that they are in the process of terminating the franchise agreement and are transitioning away from the name "Bobby Salazar's Mexican Restaurant" as part of that move.
The new name for the restaurant at 1129 E Champlain Drive in Fresno will be "Mama Iguanas" and will be offering "the same great food and long-time employees."
The announcement on Sunday comes approximately two weeks after the owners posted a sign saying the restaurant was not owned or operated by Bobby Salazar, following Salazar's arrest on
