CHARLOTTE, N.C. — An officer with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department was arrested after a crash on Sunday.

Officer Matt Wilson was charged with driving while impaired in Montgomery County, North Carolina. Wilson was arrested after he was involved in a crash on US 220A North.

Wilson was given a $500 bond, which he posted on Sunday. Court records show he had his license revoked for 30 days for driving with an alcohol concentration of .08 or more while driving.

Wilson has worked with the department since May 2020 and is on unpaid administrative leave until the completion of an internal investigation.
