BETHEL, Conn. (WFSB) - The Bethel Police Department is investigating a hit-and-run incident that left one man seriously injured Monday night on Nashville Road.

Officers responded to a report of an unresponsive male lying near the roadway in the area of 141 Nashville Road at 8:11 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers found the victim breathing but unresponsive.

According to police, evidence at the scene indicates the man was struck by a northbound vehicle, which then fled the scene before officers arrived.

The victim sustained severe injuries and was transported to Danbury Hospital for emergency treatment.

Investigators have obtained photo and video evidence of the suspected vehicle, described as a white, four-door sedan.

The vehicle is believed to have damage to the passenger side.
