CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - First responders from North Carolina and South Carolina are invited to attend a first-of-its-kind “Family Day” event in Charlotte to celebrate the first responder community and raise money for first responders who need support.

The event is being hosted by the First Responder Resilience Alliance, a new organization dedicated to connecting first responders with professionals who can get them the physical or mental assistance they need.

Michelle Hummel, a sworn law enforcement officer of more than 34 years, co-founded the organization. She said she enjoys law enforcement because no two days are the same.
