KENT, Ohio — Kent State University says its main campus will be closed all day Tuesday due to a power outage.

"Only essential personnel should report," Kent State officials wrote in an advisory shared on its social media platforms. "Students are advised to check with their professors regarding remote learning options."

Kent State spokesman Eric Mansfield told 3News that parts of the university campus lost power at approximately 5 a.m. "most likely related to overnight weather." He added that "classes will continue remote for the day as our facilities team addresses the issues."
