HENDERSON, Ky (WEHT) - An Evansville man is facing charges after police say he gave a recently purchased gun to the suspect in a weekend officer involved shooting as well as drug dealing.

According to an affidavit, 25-year-old Maurice Cobb bought two firearms from an outfitters store and gifted one to 18-year-old Jailani Chew.

Evansville Police state they were able to trace the serial number on the gun to purchase date, September 11.

Video footage from the store revealed Cobb walked in with a female and two males, one of which was Chew.

Cobb claimed he gave one of the guns to Chew after he learned Chew had been involved in an altercation and believed Chew "needed the gun more than he did".

A search warrant of Cobb's apartment revealed magazines for ammo, boxes of ammo, a digital scale
