SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — The Tom Green County Sheriff's Office has announced a burn ban is in effect.

On its website, TGSO stated that the burn ban is in effect beginning Tuesday, Sept. 23. The Commissioners Court will decide the status of the burn ban on Tuesday, Sept. 30.

A burn ban means that all outdoor burning is prohibited in the unincorporated area of the county.

A violation of this order prohibiting outdoor burning is a Class C misdemeanor, punishable by a fine not to exceed $500.
