ASHEVILLE, N.C. — BeLoved Asheville was one of the biggest local rapid response teams on the ground immediately after Helene hit. The nonprofit went from distributing supplies to building houses this year and they recently hit a major milestone.
Daniel Wright can’t wait to move his family back into the Swannanoa neighborhood they’ve loved for more than a decade. The town that neighbors Asheville was one of the hardest hit during the storm. Several people on the street where Wright lives didn't survive.
"We're looking forward to being back in our own place," Wright said.
