CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -- Communities in central Pennsylvania have many unique ways they ring in the New Year; however, one will not be doing its annual tradition

Many families look forward to seeing the New Year's Eve Potato Roll Drop in Chambersburg, but organizers say it will not be held this year. Downtown Chambersburg Inc. made the decision because they say they have the chance to create new events for the community.

"We look forward to a new era of community events and experiences taking root right in the heart of downtown," Downtown Chambersburg Inc. wrote in a Facebook post. "We remain committed to building community, celebrating tradition, and investing in what makes downtown Chambersburg a great place to call home."
