Officials identify 2 people killed in Portland apartment fire

PORTLAND, Maine (WABI) - Two people who were killed in a fire in Portland over the weekend have been identified.

The Fire Marshal’s Office says the bodies of 45-year-old Nicole Niehoff and 40-year-old Jake Millett, both of Portland, were found in the fire.

Officials say the fire happened at a four unit apartment building on St. Lawrence Street Sunday morning.

Authorities say the fire began on the rear second-floor porch area of the building before spreading inside.

The Fire Marshal’s Office continues to investigate.
