Two people have been arrested after a deadly shooting inside the Augusta Mall on Tuesday afternoon.

Around 1:15 p.m., emergency communications received multiple calls about an active shooter at the Augusta Mall.

Authorities said within 90 seconds, multiple units from the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office (RCSO) and the Richmond County Marshal’s Office arrived on scene.

When deputies arrived, they found a man who had been shot. A marshal’s deputy immediately began CPR while RCSO units secured entrances and exits to the mall.

SWAT secured the perimeter and cleared parking lots and vehicles, while the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office systematically cleared all hallways, bathrooms, and businesses inside the mall.
