EAST PITTSBURGH, Pa. —

Allegheny County police are searching for a teen who they say fatally shot his father in East Pittsburgh last week.

Officials believe 19-year-old Tayron Reid shot his father, 45-year-old Ta’Ron Reid, multiple times inside a home on the 500 block of Ridge Avenue on Sept. 16. Advertisement

Ta'Ron was found after 10:30 p.m. with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Allegheny County Police Department’s Homicide Unit was requested, and detectives initiated an investigation.

Police said that through witness interviews, detectives determined that Ta'Ron Reid's son was responsible for the shooting. Officials consulted with the district attorney's office, and a criminal homicide charge was filed against his son last week.
