WESTMORELAND COUNTY, Pa. —

A woman is facing multiple charges after several children and pets were found living in deplorable conditions in Irwin.

According to a criminal complaint, police were called to the intersection on Spruce Street and Short Street on Monday following reports of six children being "covered in filth" and chasing a dog unsupervised along the road. Advertisement

When officials arrived on scene, a neighbor was holding one of the children, who appeared to have sustained injuries from chasing the dog. The neighbor, according to the complaint, said this was not the first time the children were left unsupervised and called police for medical assistance.
