Cooler and drier weather will move into New Mexico Wednesday behind a cold front. A Pacific storm system will draw up moisture starting Friday, bringing much higher chances for rain through the weekend.
Storms have been moving through southern parts of New Mexico Tuesday afternoon, bringing rain to the Gila into Socorro and Sierra counties. These storms will bring a threat of burn scar flash flooding to the Sacramento Mountains later this evening, where a Flood Watch is in effect until 2 AM Wednesday. Another area of storms is developing in northeast New Mexico along a cold front moving south into the state. Storms will continue move into southeast New Mexico into tonight, with rain sticking around eastern parts of the state as the front moves south. A few spotty showers will stick around
