ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — The Naples Central School District says the staff member placed on leave after making controversial social media posts about the shooting of political activist Charlie Kirk has now resigned.
Superintendent Kevin Swartz released a letter to the school community this week, confirming the resignation and saying the district considers the matter resolved.
“This has been a difficult time for NCSD, and I hope we can now return our focus to all that is positive within our district,” Swartz wrote. “NCSD stands with the community in upholding the values of kindness, empathy, compassion, and civility. Thank you for your understanding and ongoing support of our students and school district.”
The resignation follows an investigation into posts made last week by a teacher li
