TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) - Hours before Arizona Volleyball's first serve on game day, athletic trainer Alana Martinez is hard at work preparing.

"We get the training room ready for them to come get taped," Martinez said. "They start trickling in to get warmed up with heating pads."

After athletes get taped, they go straight to the court for warmups.

"Shoulder health is important," she said. "We try to do that with our band workouts and warmups."

"The needs and demands on the student-athletes are so different from sport to sports," Dr. Mark Sakr, Arizona's Head Team Physican said. "That's where our athletic trainers are really subspecialized and understand those demands."
