BOISE, Idaho — As you head up Bogus Basin Road toward the mountain, drivers encounter an iconic cattle grate that has long been the legendary home of fortune-bringing trolls for decades.

As the tradition goes, drivers would open their doors as they drive over the acoustic grate, letting the trolls into their vehicle. However, they will soon have their home door locked with an eviction notice, as the Ada County Highway District will replace the grate. Officials say they are committed to preserving the beloved skiing tradition as the trolls' home transforms.
