LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Kentucky State Representative Anne Gay Donworth is calling for an independent forensic audit on Fayette County Schools following its $16 million deficit.

She says the community has lost its faith in the school board, and while some lawmakers are calling for members to resign, she wants change.

“Watching the school board meeting last night and hearing people’s lack of faith in our school system’s leadership right now was really a red flag to me,” said Donworth.

Representative Anne Gay Donworth represents a part of Lexington in the Kentucky House of Representatives. She was among five Democratic state representatives to issue a statement on Tuesday saying the community has lost faith in the current administration .
