Speed limit increased on section of Boones Creek Road

JONESBOROUGH, Tenn. (WJHL) — The speed limit on a section of Boones Creek Road in Jonesborough has increased from 30 to 45 miles per hour.

The speed limit was increased on the one-mile section of road heading north from the town limits.

Earlier this month, Mayor Kelly Wolfe said decreasing the speed limit last year led to fewer crashes, but the town wants to find a happy medium between safety and traffic flow.

Town leaders say a new traffic circle around Parsons Circle will help.
