LA JUNTA, Colo. (KKTV) - The La Junta Police Department (LJPD) said a student was arrested on Tuesday after bringing a firearm to school.

LJPD said officers received an anonymous report of a student possibly bringing a firearm to Tiger Trades Academy.

After the student arrived at school, police said school staff intervened and separated the student from the rest of the student body to ensure that the school was safe.

Police said an officer then contacted the student, who they say admitted to having a weapon. The officer then reportedly got the firearm away from the student and placed him into custody.
